Urban Design

Urban designers create a vision for clients to show the future built form possibilities and how they will determine the shape of the community beyond that, in order to make the best use of the land and create a better community for people to work, live, and play in.

The Woods’ Urban Design team has a combined experience of 72 years, and many have a background in architecture. Our projects range from medium density design greenfield subdivisions to multi-unit designs for residential and commercial developments. 

Our urban designers take a collaborative and iterative approach, working closely with our in-house engineers from day one to ensure the design or layout of the master plan is grounded in reality and aligned with the vision. Our urban designers are responsible for viewing the development in the wider context of Auckland, integrating the different layers of the master plan, and holding Councils and other external organisations to account.
