Alpurt B2 is the final stage of the realignment and extension of the Northern motorway between Albany and Puhoi, north of Auckland. As part of the Silverdale North development, adjacent to Alpurt B2, the New Zealand Transport Agency, Rodney District Council and WFH Properties have commissioned Woods to undertake detailed design and implementation of the proposed State Highway 1 Wainui Interchange.

The project involves the construction of new south facing on and off ramps with a new flyover traversing State Highway 1.

Woods have been instrumental in coordinating specialist sub consultants, providing traffic, geotechnical and structural input and advice. We have lodged resource consent applications and are progressing with the detailed engineering designs, while also working with both New Zealand Transport Agency and Rodney District Council to secure all necessary approvals.

Woods are responsible for the site observation and compliance, a vital role to ensure the success of both this project and the surrounding developments. Construction of the Wainui Interchange is scheduled to start in 2010.
