Pegasus Town

Pegasus Town is a landmark greenfield development in the Waimakariri District, north of Christchurch in North Canterbury. This entirely new town is spread over approximately 400 hectares and, once completed, will be the domicile of 5,000 residents, with homes centred around a 13 hectare recreational feature lake and 285 lot town centre, balanced by new wetlands adjacent to the Pegasus Bay beach. Community and recreational facilities will include an aquatic centre, tennis centre, town hall and sports centre, equestrian facilities, beach life guards’ facilities and an 18 hole golf course.

Pegasus Town has been designed using the principles of sustainability and is to be self-sufficient in its own water, sewerage systems and resource needs. Much emphasis has been placed on retaining the nature, conservation and cultural heritage values of its surrounding environment in planning for this totally new rural town.

Woods form part of the development team for this project undertaking earthworks modelling and detailed engineering design for roading, stormwater and wastewater as well as supplying all surveying services including the use of LIDAR for earthworks monitoring. We are also responsible for the project management of the development.

With five of its 13 stages complete, Pegasus Town now has its first residents living on site. Pegasus Town's final stages are scheduled for completion in 2012.
